The Art Institute of Las Vegas Review: Faculty Shake Up = Excuses

In my first year at the Art Institute, there were some changes in the faculty going on.  Some instructors, some in management.  Still, everything appeared as normal.

However, after my first year, there was suppose to be a "portfolio review" that never happened.  I vaguely remember this causing a bit of a disturbance when my second year portfolio review came up.

But what why wasn't there a one year portfolio review?  Well, because there were some changes in the staff.

Logical excuse, I guess.  But these portfolio reviews don't matter unless they are done by the individual(s) who are part of the graduation board.  I know of students who have had one instructor think their work is great, but then those on the graduation board thought the opposite.  The only one that matters is the graduation board's.

It is February 12th, 2015, and there are some job openings at The Art Institute of Las Vegas. Take a look!

(MRI Research Engineer/Research Associate is not a job offered from AILV - that sounds like an actual job you would go to an actual college to learn)

Of the 12 (13 if you count the duplicate math/science coordinator) AILV jobs listed, 7 of them are instructor positions. Two of them are Program Coordinators, who can also teach classes.  The school is small - over 1,000 students.  The school has a history of instructors teaching classes they aren't qualified to teach.

For example, I had an after effects instructor (a self-proclaimed after effects expert) who said he was going to teach us how to do a shatter effect.  He took about twenty minutes of class time to try to figure it out, then he said he would show us the following week.

If there are 9 instructors missing from a small school, do you think you will be taught from the best instructor for the job?
